This campaign honors Senator Dave Durenberger's work as the prime mover behind the beautiful Smith Avenue High Bridge built in 1987 that connects Saint Paul's West Side and West 7th/downtown. The Senator has also been a staunch supporter of conservation, parks and trails, and the Mississippi River. This campaign will create a dedicated seating area and sign about the High Bridge history at Capitol View Park overlooking the High Bridge. This feature will be a centerpiece of the new Communal Garden supporting the West Side that has been created by community volunteers within the park. Part of the campaign proceeds will provide special support for the communal garden over the next decade.
